The seventeen-year-old Raksha Gopal, a resident of Noida, has emerged the national topper of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 examination by scoring 99.6% in humanities stream. The results were declared by CBSE few hours back on Sunday morning.
A student of humanities from Amity International School Noida, Raksha scored 100 in three subjects — English core, political science and economics — and also managed to score 99 in two subjects — psychology and history. Her best of five subjects’ marks made her score a phenomenal 99.6% in 12th boards.
“As a home maker, I used to ensure that my daughter gets the necessary sleep and nutrition while she was preparing for boards. There was no pressure from our side and she did not even take any tuitions,” said Ranjni Gopal (49), her mother.
Bhumi Sawant of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir in Chandigarh emerged as the second topper with 99.4% and Aditya Jain from the same school bagged 99.2% to become the third topper. Mannat Luthra of Bhavan Vidyalaya in Chandigarh got 99.2% and was placed fourth.
Last year, a Delhi girl led the list of toppers in the Class 12 exam with two students from Haryana securing the second and third positions.
