Navi Mumbai based Padmaja Duvvuri (42) is a serial entrepreneur- a social media expert, CEO Arete Technologies, Partner Oye Trenz, Partner Go NextLevel, partner Univ travels and one of the 10000 women entrepreneurs selected by Goldman Sachs for certified entrepreneurship from ISB.
She attributes her nature of loving people as the main reason for her to come up with multiple entrepreneurships and for adorning the hat-trick entrepreneur cap with élan.
“I love interacting with people. Social media is all about interacting with people. Further, me being in the field of mentoring for businesses, one of the biggest challenge I see most entrepreneurs facing, is marketing. Social media is one digital platform that eases the art of marketing at the convenience of the user. Hence, I mastered this art for the benefit of myself and my mentees / clients. It is definitely an acquired art”, she points.
Padmaja strongly believes in continuous learning and recalls reading many years ago, how Facebook was slowly catching up with people. “I still remember the day when I read somewhere that Facebook is one platform where celebrities and prominent people are slowly hooking on to. I got curious and it was not still open for public or not so familiar with public. It was still in the beta stages. Nevertheless, thanks to my inquisitiveness, I started researching on it and came on to the platform. Since then all social media, channels have been added to my skills slowly and steadily”, says Padmaja who also holds a double MBA in HR and IT in addition to a Diploma in child psychology.
When asked what are the key points one should look into while doing online marketing, she says, “A small business owner or a one man marketing team can very easily get overwhelmed by all their social media accounts. But one should understand that not all platforms are for everyone. Before you jump in, you need to test the waters, one at a time. Some work some do not. You need to understand, research, stratezise, implement, monitor and rework if needed.”
Attributing her multitasking ability as her successes mantra, she says, “I have devised my own strategies and methods to handle multiple clients at a time and since I believe every client’s success is my own success, I am diligent and kind of strict with my goals, monitoring systems and strategies and never take a miss lightly.”
“I have a very supportive family because of which I have been able to achieve my goals as an entrepreneur. Understanding, motivating, encouraging, critically analysing, mentoring…all summed up into one is what I get from my husband,” she says with a grin.
